Vibes, Jerk, and the City: An Interview with Natty's Becky

Jazz: "Hi Becky, thanks for taking the time to speak with me. Could you start by introducing yourself and your role at Natty's Jerk Portsmouth?"
Becky: "I'm Becky, and I'm the Deputy Manager at Natty's Portsmouth. I've been with the company for four years now."
Jazz: "What would you say makes your jerk recipes stand out from the rest?"
Becky: "Our focus on using only the freshest produce. It really makes a difference."
Jazz: "And what made you choose us as your fresh produce supplier for those fantastic jerk dishes?"
Becky: "You offered the best combination of great quality and competitive pricing. It was an easy decision."
Jazz: "In your opinion, what are the most important vegetables you use from us for your jerk marinade?"
Becky: "It has to be the scotch bonnets—they're essential for our marinade. Without them, it just wouldn't be the same."
Jazz: "What was it like competing for Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year 2024?"
Becky: "It was crazy, so much emotion. But such a great experience."
Jazz: "How did it feel to win?"
Becky: "It felt amazing to win. After two years of being runner-up, winning was such a joy—it felt like we had finally been seen."
Jazz: "How do you even enter a competition like that?"
Becky: "Your customers vote for you!"
Jazz: "What happens after that?"
Becky: "Once you're voted into the final, you have to go to London and cook for the judges. It's a very stressful day, but also so much fun."
Jazz: "What dish did you cook in London?"
Becky: "We did a platter with our best items: goat, chicken, pork, rice and peas, and plantain. The veggie one had fried mushrooms and jackfruit. And we did a little dessert for them as well."
Jazz: "How would you describe your relationship with our team? Has anyone stood out to you?"
Becky: "We have a great relationship with your team. I also love working with you; you're always amazing, helpful, funny, and a pleasure to work with."
Jazz: "Looking ahead, what's one thing you're most excited about for Natty's Jerk in the next year?"
Becky: "I'm most excited about seeing our company grow into different cities."
Jazz: "If you had to describe your company in one word, what would it be?"
Becky: "Vibes. Our atmosphere is all about good energy and great food."
Jazz: "And what is it about Natty's that makes it so special?"
Becky: "The great food we make, paired with our commitment to authentic flavours."
Jazz: "Finally, what's your favourite dish to make or eat?"
Becky: "My favourite dish is definitely the Jerk Chicken Tacos. All the colours and flavours are great!"
