Low-Impact Logistics & Fleet Management
Our logistics strategy combines vehicle longevity,
driver safety, and low emissions:

In-House Maintenance & Repair: Our on-site maintenance team inspects and repairs fleet components and warehouse equipment, prioritising repair over replacement to extend asset lifespans.

Zero Empty Miles & Backhauling: Delivery routes utilise backhauling to pick up produce from local Hampshire suppliers on return journeys, maximising vehicle utility and cutting emissions.

Eco-Coaching & Safety: Delivery vehicles feature Geotab and Surecam telemetry systems, enabling tailored coaching for safer, lower-emission driving styles.

Component Harvesting & Automotive Recycling: Decommissioned delivery vans are thoroughly stripped on-site for usable secondary parts to service our remaining fleet. Remaining chassis are transferred to local Hampshire specialists at Silverlake for sustainable dismantling and raw material recycling.

Sustainable Fleet Transition: All company cars operate as fully electric vehicles, and we maintain a Cycle to Work scheme to support sustainable staff commuting.
Circular Economy
& Waste Reduction
We systematically track and benchmark solid waste performance
across our site buildings (C2, C3, and C5), using 2024 as our
baseline year to measure progress toward a 10% total site
waste reduction target by Year 3.

Prep-Room Organic Waste - Collected by Olleco for anaerobic digestion (converted into green electricity and organic bio-fertiliser).

Unusable Fruits and Vegetables - Pig safe vegetable & fruits are donated to local Hampshire pig farms for livestock feed.

Commercial Cardboard & Paper - Clean incoming supplier boxes are saved on picking lines to pack customer deliveries. Damaged cardboard is baled on-site and sent directly to Paper Mountain for recycling.

Mushroom Crates & Rigid Plastics - Functional plastic trays and pallets are collected and returned to local growers (including New Forest Mushrooms, Westlands Farm Shop, and Mack) to keep them in active circulation. We are establishing dedicated recycling streams for damaged crates.

Soft Plastics - Shrink-wrap and flexible plastics are segregated at origin in dedicated yellow bins and sent offsite for recycling.

Solar Generation: Our entire rooftop footprint features a dedicated solar panel array that has generated over 109,750 kWh of cumulative clean electricity. This peak mid-day solar generation aligns directly with the highest thermal cooling demands of our refrigeration compressors.

Thermal Containment: We updated our zip doors in 2026 to Fast-acting zip doors and high-speed sensors, this seal in cold air across our chilled storage areas, reducing thermal leakage and compressor strain.

Smart Facilities: Our premises utilise high-efficiency, motion-activated LED lighting to reduce our electric use.

100% Paperless Operations: Warehouse floor management, picking lists, vehicle checks, and staff energy tracking are completed digitally via the Connecteam app.

Zero Commercial Food Waste: Short-dated or surplus food safe for consumption is distributed directly to our staff for personal use.

Community & Asset Donation: Redundant, functional office furniture and equipment are offered to charity partners such as the Salvation Army. Decommissioned wooden pallets are made available to staff for personal DIY projects.

Local First Employment: We operate a 'local first' hiring policy, with 85% of our workforce recruited directly from the Gosport area to support regional economic stability.

Community Support: We actively support regional organisations including Simon Says Child Bereavement Support, Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association, and Save the Children, alongside local youth sports sponsorships. Community greening initiatives are maintained through local church partnerships. In June 2026 we official partnership with City Catering Southampton, an award-winning school meal charity, to tackle summer holiday food poverty, We packed and sent out over 700 boxes of food.
